Organize your affiliate programs

It seems that all bloggers that want to earn some cash sign up for a lot of affiliate programs.

I certainly know I have.

A big problem of mine is that I don´t have a good overview of what affiliate programs I am in. So when I am writing an article that could host an affiliate link or two I don’t have them at hand.

I will start by collecting them all in a spreadsheet, but (being a developer) I will probably create an application to help me with this. When done I will release it as freeware on jsisoft.com.

Do you have any requirements for such an application?

Get known, get paid

Getting known outside of the blogosphere is definitively a way to get a passive income on the web. If you get some buzz in the real world it trickles down in large amounts to your web site.

http://www.lookoftheyear.com is running a contest where you can win $10 000 or get a modeling career going. Applicants are accepted from all over the world.

Give it a chance, it might be the adventure of your life.

One less Wordpress site in the world

I just made my site at jsisoft.com into a plain PHP site built on top of CodeIgniter.
Wordpress is ridiculously easy to use for publishing content but since jsisoft is so static it was really overkill to use Wordpress.
I’ve made all users go to the same download page when there are updates for any of the applications. That should at least generate some advertising revenue.
I get most of my ad incomes from the Diino campaign at Double. I really recommend anyone into affiliate marketing to check it out.

Bloggerwave is at it again

It seems that Bloggerwave is up and running again. They are seeking Swedish bloggers and have added bloggerwave.se to their sites.

Så alla ni Svenska bloggers som vill tjäna några kronor extra; ta en titt på bloggerwave.

I have been writing for them before and contrary to lots of comments in the cloud I have gotten paid for every post this far.

Please remove the orange background

… on the Wordpress RSS widget. It annoys me to no end that I have to go edit PHP every time there is an update. I have six sites running on wordpress and I forget about the orange background every time I upgrade it.

Is there anyone that like it that way?

A slow restart

Filed under:Blog, Money, Uncategorized, Writing — posted by admin on April 21, 2008 @ 9:22 am

I haven’t been following the meta bloggers that much since last summer. There are a couple of them still on my bloglines feed list though.

On the quest to restart this blog I went to john chow (who dropped out of my feed list long ago) to find out what a money making blog looks like nowadays. I guess he still makes some money but to me his site looks way to desperate to be taken serious.

Then I went to problogger (that I normally follow through bloglines) and to my dismay found it equally ‘in my face’.

So, is that the way to go for a startup blog in an over crowded niche? I don’t think so.

One could guess that most people that follow them regularly use their RSS feeds so they need to throw lots of ads on the emerging internet entrepreneurs before they get involved enough to discard all ads.

I think we will never know, in the fight for readers in a small niche I guess full disclosure is not always a good thing.
